Research interest:

I am interested in reproduction, from behaviour to the morphological evolution of traits and the reproductive modes and strategies specialization, and the effects of environment in them. For this purpose, I usually focus on amphibian models as they present highly diversified niches and reproductive strategies.

I am particularly interested in the causes-effects of reproductive behaviour on internal morphology and at a cellular level. Currently, my intention is to dig deeper and try to find a relationship between certain behavioural patterns and development, and also on spatial use of parents during decision-making for offspring survival.

I have worked with maternal transcription factors as with oocyte cellular morphology on gymnophionas for my Licentiate in Biological Sciences at the Pontifical Catholic University in Ecuador (Supervisor Dr. Oscar Pérez). During my Master’s I worked with morphometrical comparisons of the internal reproductive tract of two closely related species of amphisbaenids at the Federal University of Western Pará, Brazil (Supervisor Dr. Síria Ribeiro).
